The Grand Canyon is a must do for any hiking enthusiast. With numerous side canyons to explore and vistas to photograph, the opportunities for hikers are nearly endless. We offer two hiking trips in April when the flowers, such as Sacred Datura, Crimsom Monkeyflower, and Broom Snakeweed are in bloom and the cool weather is perfect for extended hikes. If 12 days is a little longer than your vacation time allows, we also offer half Canyon trips that end or begin in the Phantom Ranch area and are six or seven days in length, respectively.
12 DAY MOTORIZED GRAND CANYON HIKE INTENSIVE TRIP
April is the perfect month for hiking. Come experience the Canyon before the summer heat arrives. This trip begins at Lee’s Ferry, Arizona, and travels 188 river miles through the Grand Canyon. Each day you will stop and explore a new side canyon, Puebloan ruin, a waterfall, or a clear blue stream. Your trip ends at Whitmore Wash where you will board a helicopter for a scenic ride out to the Bar 10 Ranch. From there you will board a small, fixed wing aircraft that will transport you back to Las Vegas, Nevada or Marble Canyon, Page, or Grand Canyon South Rim, Arizona.
HALF GRAND CANYON MOTORIZED HIKING TRIP
The same great trip as our 12 day motorized hiking trip except half the time and half the Canyon.
You may begin your trip at Lee’s Ferry, in Marble Canyon, Arizona and explore the gorgeous upper Canyon for 6 days, culminating with an escorted hike out of the Canyon from the Phantom Ranch area ascending to the beautiful South Rim. On the other hand, you may choose to join the trip via an escorted hike into the Phantom Ranch area from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and spend the next 7 days discovering the lower half of the Canyon. The lower Canyon trip ends at Whitmore Wash where you will board a helicopter for a scenic ride out to Bar 10 Ranch. There you will board a small, fixed wing aircraft that will transport you back to Las Vegas, Nevada or Marble Canyon, Page, or Grand Canyon South Rim, Arizona.
Either way, it is a hiking experience not to be missed!
If 6 or 7 days is still too long, but you would like to hike in or out of the Grand Canyon? Check out our 4 day upper or lower Grand Canyon trips.
NOTE: Hiking in the Grand Canyon is a strenuous activity, suitable only for those in good physical condition. Proper conditioning prior to your departure is a must. Trails in Grand Canyon are not maintained and can be rough and rocky, and most have a significant vertical exchange. If you suffer from any medical conditions, we strongly suggest you visit your physician and get their OK before reserving a hiking trip with us.
