Grand Canyon Hike Intensive Expeditions

The Grand Canyon is a must do for any hiking enthusiast. With numerous side canyons to explore and vistas to photograph, the opportunities for hikers are nearly endless. We offer two hiking trips in April when the flowers, such as Sacred Datura, Crimsom Monkeyflower, and Broom Snakeweed are in bloom and the cool weather is perfect for extended hikes. If 12 days is a little longer than your vacation time allows, we also offer half Canyon trips that end or begin in the Phantom Ranch area and are six or seven days in length, respectively.

12 DAY MOTORIZED GRAND CANYON HIKE INTENSIVE TRIP

April is the perfect month for hiking. Come experience the Canyon before the summer heat arrives. Join us for 11 nights and 12 days exploring the best of what the Grand Canyon has to offer. Your trip begins in Marble Canyon, Arizona where you are met by our staff the morning of your launch. After checking in and a brief orientation, you will board our vans for the 20 minute ride to Lee’s Ferry where the rafts and crew will be waiting. After your boatman introduction and your beverages and night gear are loaded and tightened down your life jacket is fitted.  The trip leader will give you a safety orientation and answer any last minute questions, then you climb onto the raft to begin your adventure on the Colorado River. You will travel 188 river miles through the beautiful Grand Canyon. Each day stopping to explore a new side canyon, Puebloan ruin, a waterfall, or an aqua blue stream. See specifcs for both the upper and lower canyon trips for more detail.

Each night after a hearty feast you will fall asleep on a star lit beach. This trip ends on your 12th morning at Whitmore Wash where you will board a helicopter for a scenic ride out of the Canyon to Bar 10 Ranch. From there you board a fixed wing aircraft that will transport you back to Las Vegas, NV or Marble Canyon, AZ; Page, AZ; or Grand Canyon South Rim, AZ.

6 DAY UPPER GRAND CANYON MOTORIZED - HIKE INTENSIVE

You may begin your trip at Lee’s Ferry, in Marble Canyon, Arizona and explore the gorgeous upper Canyon for 6 days.   culminating with an escorted hike out of the Canyon from the Phantom Ranch area ascending to the beautiful South Rim.

On the other hand, you may choose to join the trip via an escorted hike into the Phantom Ranch area from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and spend the next 7 days discovering the lower half of the Canyon. The lower Canyon trip ends at Whitmore Wash where you will board a helicopter for a scenic ride out to Bar 10 Ranch. There you will board a small, fixed wing aircraft that will transport you back to Las Vegas, Nevada or Marble Canyon, Page, or Grand Canyon South Rim, Arizona.

Either way, it is a hiking experience not to be missed!

If 6 or 7 days is still too long, but you would like to hike in or out of the Grand Canyon? Check out our 4 day upper or lower Grand Canyon trips.

NOTE: Hiking in the Grand Canyon is a strenuous activity, suitable only for those in good physical condition. Proper conditioning prior to your departure is a must. Trails in Grand Canyon are not maintained and can be rough and rocky, and most have a significant vertical exchange. If you suffer from any medical conditions, we strongly suggest you visit your physician and get their OK before reserving a hiking trip with us. For information on hiking in the Grand Canyon, review the Hiking Tips page included in the Trip Pack on the RESOURCES page and check out www.hitthetrail.com for some helpful hints on preparing for your hike.
