What got you into the outdoors?
I grew up in a mountain town surrounded by the outdoors and much of my childhood was spent enjoying them. When I discovered Grand Canyon as a teenager, it seemed like an incredible opportunity for a summer job in high school and college. Somehow, more than 30 years have escaped me while I have had the opportunity to become acquainted with the Grand Canyon.
What is your favorite Grand Canyon fact or story to share with guests?
The geology of Grand Canyon is probably the subject that I most commonly share with guests. The river is the ultimate tool for taking in the geology and allowing people to digest it in logical bits that make for a sumptuous treat!
Do you have a favorite place in Grand Canyon?
I am still searching for that favorite place in Grand Canyon! It is never the same place and different each time.
How do you stay busy in the off season?
I work as a field biologist and ski patroller.
What would you say to someone who is considering planning a trip, but on the fence?
If you like the outdoors, this is an incredible way to experience it.
